Hi, Parents, teachers, authority figures, personal experiences, evidence, associates, books, traditions, imagination, revelation, etc., affect the shaping of our belief systems, which in turn shape our values, behaviors, thoughts, etc. Sometimes, our beliefs (which may be right/wrong, true/false) help us during suffering or hardship and bring us power. Sometimes beliefs can be a hindrance in one's growth and development. Changing beliefs can be quite hard for many. Some will stress: My belief is true because it lives in me and provides me direction and makes me understand. Rejecting may be hard for many, so they just believe. Is believing wrong better than believing nothing? Is doubting worthier than trusting, or vice versa? Should we believe what we cannot rationally substantiate? Why believe at all? We asked our panel of religious leaders: How your personal belief system developed? Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
